History

Afdrukken
1949 The success story began 60 years ago, when Mr Jan Dijksterhuis started making draught excluders in Wassenaar under the Elton brand. The draught excluder market was developed with a draught excluder consisting of a beech wood frame with a rubber seal.

1963 Elton has grown substantially and relocates to larger premises in Roden. The expansion creates plenty of space for further development and for the company to grow.

1965- 1973 The range is extended. The wooden frame is replaced by aluminium and plastic holders, and exports to Germany, Ireland and Denmark begin. The emergence and development of the DIY market in Europe leads to rapid development and growth in the export activities.

1974 -1985 Establishments are opened in France and Germany through the acquisition of French and German agencies. During this period the self-adhesive Ellen draught tape is added to the range.

1985 The French location, France Calfeutrage, relocates to new business premises.

1986 Mr Rudi Dijksterhuis succeeds his father, Jan Dijksterhuis, and under his leadership Elton develops as a professional partner for suppliers in the building and DIY market.

1992 The Elton location in Germany relocates to a new office in Oyten.

1994 The acquisition of Sefna, a French company that develops and produces brush seals. Ellen launches Finprotect at the International Building Expo Batimat.

1999 New office accommodation for the Dutch location in Roden.

2008 The office and the modern production plant in Roden employ 95 people. At this location some 1500 different door and window articles are produced and delivered to 23 countries, primarily in Europe
